Spoons tended to avoid casinos and their ilk for two important reasons. One, she didn’t think it quite fair. She may not have been the smartest robot, a fact she couldn’t help today, but she was still a machine. She was certain of her advantage. The second reason was her dearly departed maker. Both of these things would normally bother her, but today, she couldn’t quite reason out why she cared at all. Humans deserved what they got. She couldn’t help being better than them.
And as for her maker? She really needed to get over her sentimentality for the dead gambler. He’d gotten just what he deserved.
With that in mind, she strolled past the security bots and into the glitzy building. Now this was where she belonged.
Staying most of his days at the Tops casino had its ups and downs, sure, he lived like a king, but having to go through day after day of watching generic face 1 to a 100 enter the casino started to bore.
And all those god awful executives he had to stay in touch with, acting like his ears were wide open, yet all he focused on were the never so smooth: ‘Congratulations we’ve got a winner.’ in the background. Another five grand in caps being snatched from under his nose.
As he exhaled some smoke from his cigarette one of the younger chairmen stepped next to him and his meeting, whispering something about something Benny had to come and see at the door.
‘’ If this is another one of those protesting NCR cats, i swear to god baby,
you’ll be the first one to dive off of this buildin’ in a long time. ‘’
He explained as he flicked the cigarette into the nearest ashtray, before making his way towards the entrance.
Both his eyebrows cocking up at the sight of the robot.
‘’ Hey-hey-hey... what the hell is goin’ on here? ‘’
